La Asunción is an all-female university college ascribed to the University of Valencia. It is an institution of a civil character, with a Christian identity and open to all people. It began its activity in the academic year 1956-57, and since then it has provided lodging services, in addition to promoting academic excellence as a bet for the future and an integral university education for its residents.
To achieve these goals, and based on the experience of more than 50 years, the entirety of life in the College is based on three pillars that highlight the fundamental characteristics that make this College UNIQUE:
CLOSE AND FAMILIAR ENVIRONMENT
From the University College we try to create an atmosphere in which everyone feels at home, in a climate of trust in which friendship is born; enriched and increased through the family-like customs of the College.
The University College makes available to each resident a “tutor” so that through personal treatment everyone can receive the support and guidance that they needs throughout their academic and personal development.
ACADEMIC AND CULTURAL EXCELLENCE
An environment of study and complementary training to the university is favored, in which the residents learn how to prioritize their academic studies and expand their knowledge and professional and social skills.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A RESIDENCE AND A COLEGIO MAYOR?
University colleges are university centers that, integrated in the University, provide residence to the students, while promoting the cultural, solidarity, scientific and generally human formation of the residents. The university residences, unlike the university colleges, are not obliged to offer programs or activities of this type within their services.
